Rathi Pragasam is a distinguished commercial lawyer and political activist with a career defined by leadership, advocacy, and a commitment to public service. As a Non-Executive Director with the Ministry of Justice, Rathi conducted thematic investigations and compliance visits, authoring nationwide case studies and monitoring reports that hold the government accountable. Her meticulous work has contributed to transparency and improved governance.
In politics, Rathi has served as Chairman of the Staffordshire Moorlands Conservative Party, where she led party management, organised high-profile fundraising events, and ensured compliance with Electoral Law and GDPR.
As Chairman of the Staffordshire Conservative Women’s Organisation, she championed greater female representation in politics, organising recruitment events to attract new candidates. Rathi’s national influence extends to her role as National Executive Director for Reaches, where she spearheaded political outreach to recruit parliamentary candidates from diverse backgrounds and represented organisational views in discussions with Cabinet Ministers.
She also worked with No10 Downing Street, fostering international collaboration and engaging communities on strategic initiatives. Her campaign expertise includes serving as Association Captain, leading Boris Johnson’s campaign in the West Midlands. She successfully coordinated supporters and communicated strategy to deliver impactful results.
Beyond politics, Rathi’s dedication to public service is evident in her role as an Advisor for Citizens’ Advice, where she assisted clients with immigration, employment disputes, and welfare issues, advocating for fairness and access to justice.
